About English grinds
English grinds tend to be about writing, not content. Look for a tutor who will correct written work to Leaving Certificate or Junior Cycle standard and give feedback specific enough to reuse in the next essay.

English grinds FAQ
Will the tutor correct essays between lessons?
Many English tutors do, but agree it up front. Ask whether marked work is included in the lesson or sent back separately, since correcting essays takes time outside the hour you book.
Can grinds help with the comparative study?
Yes. The comparative is where planning matters most, so tutors often build comparison grids across your texts and practise linking modes rather than re-reading the books.
Do we need to study the same texts as the school?
You should. Tell the tutor which texts, poets and film your class is covering when you book so the lessons match what you will actually answer on in June.
