What is GetGrinds.ie?
GetGrinds.ie is a marketplace to find and book verified tutors in Ireland for Junior Cycle, Leaving Certificate and other levels — online or in person, paid in euro.
How do I book a lesson?
Browse tutors or subject hubs, open a tutor profile, pick an available slot and pay securely. Unpaid holds expire after a short window. Lessons need at least 12 hours’ notice and can be booked up to 28 days ahead.
When do I get the tutor’s contact details?
Contact details are shared only after the booking is confirmed and paid. Until then, messaging stays on the platform’s booking flow.
What is the cancellation and refund policy?
If you cancel as a student: full refund with 48+ hours’ notice, 50% with 24–48 hours’ notice, and no refund within 24 hours of the start. If the tutor or platform cancels, you get a full refund.
How much does the platform charge tutors?
We take a 15% platform fee from the lesson total. Tutors receive the remainder via Stripe Connect, subject to Stripe’s payout timing and our post-lesson dispute window (48 hours).
How do tutors get verified?
Tutors complete a profile and submit verification materials for review. Profiles need verification before they appear in public search results.
Can someone under 18 book grinds?
Yes, with a parent or guardian supervising the account and bookings. We minimise data shared publicly and withhold contact details until a booking is confirmed.
How do I become a tutor?
Create an account as a tutor, complete your profile and verification, set availability and connect payouts with Stripe. See Become a tutor from the header or footer.
